The Second Step..!

Second Semester. Another four months of fun and enjoyment.!! :)
College fests have become a must in a student’s life. A college campus without any cultural fest is like a body without soul..:P. Calling big sensational performers and Hunting for sponsors starts months before the event. After finalizing all the plans, finding the sponsors and conjuring them is the most prodigious task for the students as they bring the value addition to the event. Everyone around the campus tries to run an extra mile just for making their event memorable.
February was the month of the six-day mega techno-cultural fests in IET. Starting with the UDAAN(Forces) , AAKSHANK-(MRIDAKSH  and WAVEZ)(The college event) , KSCOPE (Abacus) and ending with the techno event PHEONIX. From the campaigning to the main event everything was very appropriately managed by the students.
Campaigning: Spreading the Word..!
Our campaigning started two weeks prior to the main event. Campaigning for the college event is very interesting as one gets to go to other colleges, tell students about the fest and  trying to gather maximum number of students to participate. It is seen that posters of the fest are put up at every joint where students hang out from canteens to the entrance of blocks in short anywhere and everywhere..:P
GSITS was our first destination. At first view it felt as if it was too like a private college where students sit in the boring lectures all the time during the college hours and appear in the campus only for the lunch break..:P Well jokes apart We met many different kinds of people in the same campus like the students without any sense of respect and just proposing a girl standing infront,:P  or  just trying to get our cell numbers and many more idiots like dat..:D Same was the case in Swami vivekanand or Truba. Students appeared in huge masses only during the lunch break which was certainly a big problem as nobody was then interested in listening any of such stuff. The most horrible crowd I encountered was of Holkar college .

The most awaited week finally was there. The cultural fest started with the Forces club’s UDAAN a two day event including many daytime events ,A DJ nite(washed away by the rains) and A Fantabulous concert of the AGNEE band(10th Feb). A poster making competition marked the beginning, the competition was about bringing your ideas about UDAAN on a paper with colours. Though we couldn’t win :P but it became my first holi (with paint colours) :D.and finally It was an amazing experience to hear the AGNEE band LIVE.
AAKSHANK 2k13 was another successful two day college event which overcrowded the DAVV auditorium.  Dances, Plays ,the branch videos ,the fashion show each and every bit of it was worth watching. Sitting in the audi and hooting for your branch was the  total fun..:)
KSCOPE : (Carnival of colours ) Kscope included daytime events like zorbing, paintball,Burma bridge,Gully Olympics,Bollywood Housie,Lan gaming,Seminars(One on Future Prospects like doing MBA). Managing any event is the most challenging part of a fest which we realized when my gang had to manage a very short event  named Bollywood housie. But finally with hard work it worked.:)
Finding the videoclips and especially editing them (:P) was the part we are going to remember forever.:D
Whether it was 15 th night war of strings (DEVOID rock band) Or 16th night Melophila (Gajendra verma's concert) Everything was worth attending.
The showers of rain troubled almost every night during this 6 day event but the IETians proved that even after working against odds they can make their event a glowing success.:) Today when I sit and think about those 6-7 days I feel like I completely lived every second of those days full of fun, entertainment and friendship..:)
The Annual Science and Technology Festival Phoenix 2k13 “The spirit to create, the brilliance to innovate, the ardor to achieve, the patience to discover, the diligence to instruct, and above all the zeal to be successful”.(Two day event). It included many workshops and seminars on Web Designing, Ethical Hacking, Robotics, Embedded Systems, PGP, Wireless Communication, Radio and TV broadcasting , brought competitions and quizzes with lot of prizes. A complete package of two day techno fun..:)

In the end it’s all about taking a well-deserved break from those boring lectures and these refreshing events certainly did that.:)

These were the months when Pages like IET confessions ,compliments, proposals,Insults were made and were completely overflooded with the posts. Many posts were damn controversial especially those which were posted on IET insults page..:P I just don’t know why people try to compliment or propose using these options and that too under anonymous name.:P..
The month of March was of the festival of colours Holi. The first college holi (and the first holi of my life) .Well it was played in a very wild manner Even with the mud. Definitely it would be one of the most memorable Holi for all of us..:) The only regret is that we couldn’t play holi with our seniors.Anyways the next year it would be a college holi and not a class holi..:D

This was ED sem and so most of the nights were spent in making those sheets and constantly chatting on phone even at midnight.:P What to say about faculties of this sem..? Some were over innocent while some tortured for the complete semester which brought a sense of terrorist nature inside me and I was forced to use AK47 in almost my every sentence..:P E block garden and the games played over there including truth and dare are still remembered.:P
So finally this semester ended with the end of our first year in college (1/4th of our engineering life) and made us realize that ”Time flies away especially the bit that’s worth living..”!!

College Life

From days I was thinking of writing my blog. But was not very sure coz m not a writer and even not dat good in English but I felt it’s the best way to express myself as well as to spread some knowledge among my buddies. So here I am with my first blog post.:)

As the title itself reveals that m going to write about my first year more correctly my first semester (Beginning of My College Life ).
I think the biggest Transition/adaptation in everyone’s Life is moving from school to college. Almost each one of us have felt that feeling of nostalgia of leaving our so called SECOND HOME, ‘Our School’. I still really miss those days of my school life spent mostly on our school playground , school auditorium and the benches under the trees in school campus especially during our English Lectures. Besides all these things the feeling of separation from the school friends makes us gloomy and disheartened.
There are many such stages in our life when we take wrong decisions which ultimately have devastating effect on our life. One of such decisions for me was the choice of my coaching institution for IIT. And so When I enrolled myself at IET DAVV, Indore I was certainly not much happy. It was certainly like I didn’t have any other option left.
The hardest part after 12th is to get into a new environment and to start from almost a zero. One of the greatest relief for me was One of my school friends was enrolled in the same college ,the same branch and finally in the same section.:P When the thought of ‘The very first day at college’ comes everyone’s mind is full of anxiety, fear and excitement , And so was mine. And finally the day arrived. As I entered the college premises my first thought was “Wat Am I doin here”. It was exactly like I came into a Jungle :P more than 35 kms away from my home into a completely different world where nobody knows me by name but just by my rank and truly speaking not even by that.:P  'E block' the block allotted for first year ,The first sight of E block was as if God was sprinkling salt on the burn :P.(I mean Jale pe namak chidakana :D) coz on the left side It was written ‘Indian Institute Of technology Indore’.:’( :D

If I talk about the Management then It was really first class management from the first day onwards..:P..No schedule, no class allotted. I still remember one lady came and told me that ‘ Today is just your first day so go and sit in any of those two classes’( pointing to some random rooms). From that day to till now the management Of my IET fascinates me almost every time.:-D If I am not mistaken then the first classmate I met was (actually were )Avani and Nandini and from the first or second class the only person among the boys whom I remembered was Our CR...(its not necessary to mention the reason)..:P

So months passed, We got completely awesome faculties in our first sem..Hats off to them..;-) Me and my gang spent a lot of gud tym whether we were in lecture continuously chatting (on copy) :D or roaming in the college campus.:) I can proudly say dat I actually have Seen the formation of  AKR.(Going to be the most famous group of world not necessarily together but certainly each member of it is going to excel in his field. ) :) We started bunking classes sitting in E block’s garden(Our adda) and jst chatting nd chatting..:D I can clearly remember our first midsem’s second paper (Electronics) It was lyk first time in my life that I failed in any test. That’s one of the differences between school and college. Nobody is worried here about any kind of tests . And so Am I now..:) Assignments , files everything was uploaded in our group" Innocent CS" and certainly all the photos were taken by extremely classic Camera (with VGA flash)..:D

Then the time came for freshers..Interaction with CS A seniors in B Block parking area is simply unforgettable. For first time in my lyf( which is but obvious) I proposed two seniors and dat to by bending on one knee.:D.(It was a part of getting entry pass for our freshers) Each and every bit of that awesome eve of freshers is memorable.
By the end of the session I finally made many true friends.(From my point of view It’s the most difficult task when one gets into completely changed environment):) Our first trip together to regional and The first movie we all (CS A) saw together will always be a memorable one for me (SOTY)..:P
So finally After all these 4-6 months I can change my previous saying “Wat am I doin here” into “ What I would seriously have missed if I was not here”..:)
